characterization of metal oxides extracted from different precursors and their application in nuclear technology
Description
scientific efforts have more and more been focused on the preparation of nano-dispersed powders, because of their interesting surface properties expecting a high sintering activity and a high strength of the final ceramic product. unfortunately, it seems to be difficult to prepare bulk materials from these powders. on the other hand, these powders are much more expensive than conventional ones. but nano - sized powders open new possibilities for the fabrication of thin layers and membranes where only a small amount of material is needed. nano-sized alumina (Al2O3), silica (sio2) and zirconia (ZrO2) as well as composites from them can be prepared by chemical methods such as sol-gel technique, hydrolysis and pyrolysis. highly dispersed alumina oxide powders are prepared by pulsation reactor method. metal alkoxide or metal salt is used as precursor solutions
