Description
Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world. This paper describes the role of nuclear energy in Brazil in the coming years in seven sections as follows: Section I describes the paper and shows its content. Section II explains the structure of the nuclear sector in Brazil. Section III deals with the electric energy scenarios and Section IV presents the role of nuclear power in the energy scenarios. Section V describes the nuclear fuel cycle activities that are taken place in Brazil. Section VI deals with other applications of nuclear energy in the society and Section VII concludes the paper presenting the prospectives of nuclear energy in the country
