After an introduction which discusses the influence of the international economic crisis on the medical imaging sector in 2011, the articles comment and discuss evolutions and innovations in different fields related to medical imaging: mammography (trends of development of digital mammography, technical offers by providers), echography (development of more compact, faster and more powerful devices, overview of the industrial offer by the main international manufacturers), MRI (main current trends, overview of the industrial offer), information technologies (market trends, evolution of industrial offer by the main different actors), molecular imaging (the race for the development of PET-MRI in France), scanner (overview of a market proposing scanners with well controlled doses and costs), digital radiology (trends, strong competition, development of mobile and ergonomic installations).
