Description
This work presents the activities developed by occupational radiation protection group, Nuclear Industry Division of Dosimetry and Radioprotection Institute, of Nuclear Energy Commission, Brazilian nuclear regulatory authority, during the Usina Santo Amaro decommissioning process. Because, in Brazil, the regulatory authority does not have specific rules about decommission, the work was done in stages. The occupational group has done evaluation of radiological protection plans, surveys, monitoring of grounds, walls and pieces and evaluates the efficiency of the operator's procedures adopted. Consequences of these surveys and its influence of the solution of the found problems at this first time decommission activities done in Brazil are presented. (author)
