Radiation-induced thyroid cancer
Creators
Description
A discussion is presented of the best line of approach to the surveillance of population groups now considered to be at risk from thyroid cancer, having been the subjects of medical procedures no longer practised. The discussed is illustrated with particular reference to the follow-up of people irradiated in childhood for scalp ringworm (especially in Israel), and the screening of 5000 people treated by radiation for benign conditions at the Michael Reese Institute in Chicago between 1939 and 1962.
