Speciation analysis of arsenic by chemical separation and neutron activation analysis methods

Description
Two chemical separation methods, based on ion exchange separation and solvent extraction, have been standardized for the speciation of As(III) and As(V) in aqueous samples. Labeled standards of As(III) and As(V) were used to obtain the recoveries and the recoveries were quantitative. Synthetic mixtures of As(III) and As(V) in aqueous systems were separated by ion exchange chromatography and the concentrations of the separated fractions were determined by neutron activation analysis.
