Description
In the current domestic the research of development technology of SFR as Gen-IV reactor is being performed actively, and MA containing metallic fuel has proposed as SFR nuclear fuel which is related to non-proliferative pyro-processing. MA containing metallic fuel is evaluated very ideal nuclear fuel because it not only reduces the repository period in nuclear waste, but also can be possible to use uranium resources effectively by using the MA as fuel materials. However it is anticipated that MA elements' radioactivity is going to affect to fabrication of metallic fuel, operation of reactor, and performances and properties of SFR metallic fuel. Therefore in this research, the evaluation on the radioactivity of MAs that will be contained in SFR metallic fuel and the effects of radioactivity for fabrication and performances of metallic fuel are performed. The contents of research are the characteristics of domestic spent nuclear fuel, separating major component elements of SFR metallic fuel and recovering by using pyro-processing, major nuclides and radioactivity of SFR metallic fuel by pyro-processing, and major performances and properties of SFR metallic fuel
