The development of the Alberta electricity grid
Description
This paper describes the activities of AltaLink, a transmission company with 11,600 km of lines (69 to 500kV). A total of 23,000 MW of new generation is planned in Alberta with multiple generation opportunities that includes wind generation, combined cycle gas generation, high efficiency gas co-generation, super-critical coal plants, hydro and nuclear.
