Effect of neutron irradiation on fatigue crack propagation in alloy 718 at 6500C

  • 1. Naval Research Lab., Washington, DC (USA)

Description

The purpose of this paper is to present the results from a study of the effects of fast neutron irradiation on the fatigue and creep-fatigue crack propagation performance of Alloy 718 at 6500C. The results for the irradiated materials are compared with those from companion unirradiated specimens for the conventional heat treatment condition. The crack propagation mode of the tested specimens was evaluated using SEM examinations. (orig./RK)
