Paramagnetic centers in neutron-irradiated LiF crystals, 4
Description
Tritium and hydrogen atoms are produced in LiF crystals by irradiation with neutrons at low temperatures and studied by ESR and ENDOR. In ESR absorption spectra of irradiated LiF : OH crystals are observed two pairs of doublet lines due to tritium and hydrogen atoms. These lines are studied by ENDOR. For each of four lines, two ENDOR signals are observed at the Li7 and F19 NMR frequencies, respectively. Signal intensity decreases with temperature. Rotation of crystals relative to static magnetic field influence little on the intensity and frequency of the signals. Hyperfine interactions of tritium and hydrogen electrons with lattice ions are negligible. The behaviors are very similar to distant ENDOR effect firstly observed by Lambe et al. (author)
