Mass transport in deeply inelastic heavy ion collisions
Description
The relaxation of the mass asymmetry in deeply inelastic heavy ion collisions is investigated within the framework of a Fokker-Planck equation. We determine deflection functions and angular momentum dependent interaction times from experimental data. Using mass transport coefficients obtained previously in a microscopic theory, element distributions are calculated and compared with recent measurements. (author)
