Hydridohalide complexes of aluminium and bis-(eta-cyclopentadienyl)yttrium

Description

Reaction of bis (eta-cyclopentadienyl) yttrium chloride with aluminium hydride and lithium alumohydride is studied. Complexes of (Cp2YCl)2 AlH3xOEt2 (1) and Cp2YAlH4xOEt2 (2) composition where x <= 0.3 are extracted. IR spectra of 1 and 2 complexes and their deuterosubstituted analogs are studied, attribution of absorption bands in IR spectra is conducted. (Cp2YCl)2 dimers are bound through aluminium hydride monoetherate by means of Y-H-Al bridge bonds in polymeric chains in the complex 1, for which X-ray diffraction investigation is conducted. (Cp2YH)2(AlH3)2 formula is suggested for completely non-solvated complex 2. It is supposed that (Cp2YH)2 dimers in it are bound with AlH3 groups directly by means of hydrogen bridge atoms
