Description
This document specifies a method for determining the apparent density and tap density of free-flowing uranium dioxide (UO) powder used for pelletizing and sintering UO pellets as nuclear fuel. This method can be used for various types of UO powders, including grains, granules, spheres, or other types of particles. The method can also be applied to other fuel powders such as PuO, ThO, and powder blends such as UO-PuO and UO-GdO. The responsible German standardization body is NA 062-07 FBR "Fachbereichsbeirat Kerntechnik und Strahlenschutz" in the DIN Standards Committee for Materials Testing (NMP).
