Investigation of radiation resistance of scintillators based on polystyrene
- 1. Gosudarstvennyj Komitet po Ispol'zovaniyu Atomnoj Ehnergii SSSR, Serpukhov (Russian Federation). Inst. Fiziki Vysokikh Ehnergij
Description
The results of investigating radiation resistance of polystyrene scintillators with various scintillation additives are presented. Samples 5 mm thick and 25 mm in-diameter were irradiated by gamma quanta from 137Cs source in air at room temperature. Under the same conditions the partial restoration of light yields of irradiated samples was observed. More than 30 luminophors were investigated. The radiation resistance of the polystyrene scintillator may be increased by raising significantly concentration of the primary additive (up to 10%) and by adding naphthalene
