Fusion of 14N + 12C at high energies

Description
Beams of nitrogen-14 at seven energies over the range 43.9 to 178.1 MeV were used to bombard 156- and 257-μ g/cm2 carbon foils. Reaction products with Z = 3 to 12 were identified, and angular distributions were measured over the range of 4 to 400. The cross sections, spectra, yields, and compound nucleus formation are discussed
