Partial analysis of the D + T → n + α reaction
Description
The microscopic description of the D + T → n + α reaction is extended to an arbitrary value of the orbital momentum L of relative motion of fragments. Emphasis is laid on the description of the well-known low-energy resonance in the cross section for the above-mentioned reaction. The channels with the lowest orbital momenta L = 0, 1, and 2 are extensively investigated. It is shown that this microscopic calculation completely describes the above-mentioned resonance. Although most scientists are of the opinion that the channel with L = 0 is of crucial importance in the formation of this resonance, the channel with normal parity (L = 1) is found to give the main contribution to the resonant cross section. It is shown that the low-energy cross section is strongly sensitive to parameters of odd components of NN interaction. 7 refs., 10 figs
