Supersymmetric effective field theories

Creators

Description

The low-energy theory (standard model) is introduced with a special emphasis on the effective theory approach. Then the alternative of low-energy supersymmetry is described and it is shown how it can be incorporated in the standard model, and in accordance to current cosmological ideas. Finally these ideas are synthesized within the framework of grand unification, in which case one is left with an effective field theory at length scales larger than the Planck scale. 91 refs.; 17 figs.; 8 tabs
