Effect of high level radiation on cytogenetic adaptive response

  • 1. Norman Bethune Univ. of Medical Sciences, Changchun (China). Inst. of Radiation Medicine

Description

Human lymphocytes in vitro and mouse germ cells in vivo were firstly irradiated by 50 mGy X-rays, then exposed to different doses or different dose rates of high level X-rays. The results showed that the adaptive response appeared in the dose range of 0.75-3.0 Gy. When the dose was 3.75 Gy, adaptive response disappeared. The magnitude of adaptive response decreased with the dose rate of high level increasing when the large dose was 1.5 Gy
