Description
The therapeutic results were studied in optimization of combined radiotherapy for uterine cervix carcinoma with an extended dose distribution using bremsstrahlung of a 42 MeV betatron. It became obvious that the application of the therapeutic procedure results in five years of survival for stage I of the disease in 92.8%, for stage II in 85.6% and stage III in 53.0%. The importance of the extended dose distribution became particularly manifest in metastatic affections of the external and the common iliac nodes in that it improved homogeneity of irradiation of the whole pelvis.
