This article reports on the use of Schlumberger's recently commercialised cased hole formation resistivity (CHFR) tool at Agip's North Sea Tiffany field to look beyond the near well bore and further into the formation to find an explanation for the fall in production accompanied by water production. Details are given of the CHFR tool which is capable of measuring fluid saturation several metres from a cased hole, the prototype testing of the Baker Atlas's through casing resistivity (TCR) evaluation tool, logging speeds, and the market for case hole resistivity tools
