Design of superconducting magnets for proton synchrotrons
- 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Radiotekhniki i Ehlektroniki
Description
The paper deals with a superconducting magnet design for high energy accelerators. Test results and the design scheme of SPD-2, a superconducting dipole with 4T field, are presented. The field uniformity within 50% of aperture is better than 4 x 10-3. A description of another dipole, SPD-3, with a better field accuracy is given. Also, some general aspects of magnet and cryogenic systems are discussed. (author)
