Specific scintigraphy of neuroblastoma with meta-iodobenzylguanidine

Description

MIBG-scintigraphy is a specific nuclearmedical technique for diagnosis, therapy control and follow-up of neuroblastoma. The results of four patients are described. Three patients suffered from an undifferentiated neuroblastoma. Two cases revealed clear-cut activity uptake in the primary tumor, one case showed a bone metastasis. A patient with an unclassifiable neuro-ectodermal tumor did not show positive tracer uptake. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Mit der MIBG-Szintigraphie steht erstmals ein spezifisches radiologisches Untersuchungsverfahren fuer Diagnostik, Therapiekontrolle und Nachsorge des Neuroblastoms zur Verfuegung. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird ueber die Ergebnisse der Szintigraphie bei vier Patienten berichtet. Drei der Patienten hatten ein undifferenziertes Neuroblastom. In zwei Faellen zeigte sich eine deutliche Aktivitaetsanreicherung im Primaertumor, in einem Fall konnte eine Knochenmetastase nachgewiesen werden. Bei einem vierten Patienten mit einem histologisch nicht klassifizierbaren neuroektodermalen Tumor war der szintigraphische Befund negativ. (orig.)
