Specific activity of the main sources of spontaneous fission neutrons from 4 Chernobyl NPP block
Description
The specific activity of the main source of spontaneous fission neutrons from the 4 Chernobyl NPP block is calculated for different time intervals since the instant of accident. Transuranium elements with a low specific activity (242mAm and 242Pu) are established to play important part in formation of the spectrum of spontaneous fission neutrons. The contribution from 242mAm and 242Pu is rapidly decreasing with time. In year 2101, the latter contribution will amount to more than 10% of the total activity, which at that time will be formed mainly by 240Pu
