Structure and production of Λ hypernuclei with neutron halo

Description
Properties of Λ hypernuclei with neutron halo (Λ12Be, Λ9He, Λ11He, Λ11Li, and Λ16C) are calculated with the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock approach. Interplay between ΛN interaction features and properties of these hypernuclei is studied. Response of halo neutron states to hyperon addition depends on core distortion by hyperon. This response is especially sensitive to details of the ΛN interaction for 1p1/2 halo states. Implication of nuclear spin-orbit potential in halo hypernuclei is inferred. Dependence of the Λ binding energies on Z at fixed A is discussed. Estimations for Λ12Be yields from the 12C(stopped K-, π+) reaction are presented. (author)
