Superconducting Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O films via electrodeposition process
Description
Electrolytic solutions containing bismuth, strontium, calcium and copper were taken for deposition of precursor films of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconductors. Films from aqueous and non-aqueous baths were deposited under d.c. and pulse potentials. Films oxidised at elevated temperature show superconductivity above 77 K. The films obtained from non-aqueous dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) bath under pulsed potential (deposited at 25 Hz frequency and 50% duty cycle) and oxidised at 750 degC for 15 minutes show improvement in superconducting properties.
