Description

The study of the cracking in electron beam welding of low alloy steel plates (steel ASTM-A387 gr 22) of high thickness shows that the welding speed to be the essential parameter. A low speed improves the resistance to cracking. The low segregation obtained with this process minimizes the effect of impurities

Abstract (French)

L'etude de la fissuration en soudage par faisceau d'electrons d'aciers faiblement allies (acier ASTM-A387 gr 22) en forte epaisseur met en evidence que la vitesse de soudage est le parametre essentiel. Une vitesse faible diminue le risque de fissuration. La segregation faible obtenue par ce procede de soudage diminue l'effet des impuretes
