After some general remarks on the PISC programme (Programme for the Inspection of Steel Components), this paper gives comments on the benefits of PISC III for the German situation on the various actions realized: reactor pressure vessel examination; examination of stainless steel and bi/tri-metallic welds; examination of steam generator tubes; mathematical models; human factors; support to codes and standards
