Projected uranium measurement uncertainties for the gas centrifuge enrichmentplant
Description
An analysis was made of the uncertainties associated with the measurements of the declared uranium feed streams in the GCEP. The UF6 streams, representing the largest amount of uranium, produce the largest component of uncertainty. The systematic component of uncertainty of the UF6 streams is the largest contributor to the total uncertainty. The random component of the UF6 streams and the wastes measurement uncertainties are about equal in magnitude and only minor contributors to the total uncertainty. The total uncertainty for the GCEP is projected to be from 65 to 130 kg 235U/year out of a measured total of 200,000 kg 235U/year
