Description

Calibration of measuring instruments for radon and radon decay products necessitates large-volume, gastight and aerosol-tight calibration chambers. An exemplary calibration chamber is described. Problems of gastightness had to be solved as radon is a very small atom and diffuses through most plastic and rubber materials

Abstract (German)

Um die Messgeraete fuer Radon und Radonfolgeprodukte kalibrieren zu koennen, sind radongas- und aerosoldichte grossvolumige Kalibrierkammern notwendig. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird eine solche Kalibrierkammer beschrieben. Die wesentlichen Probleme, die zu loesen waren, ist die Gasdichtheit, da Radon als sehr kleines Atom durch die meisten Plastmaterialien oder auch Gummi diffundiert. (orig.)
