Description

Background: A single sphere moderator and high sensitivity multi-counter (SMMC) is designed for portable neutron dosimeter. Purpose: In order to use the SMMC for practical application, the design of the electronics system is required to satisfy the requirement of the signal processing of SMMC. Methods: The system was mainly composed of the amplifier circuits, nuclear pulse shaped circuit, pulse amplitude discriminate circuits, instrument control circuit and power management circuit. Each of these components was designed and implemented for experimental evaluation. Results: Experimental results show that this electronic system could work stably and satisfy the design requirements. Conclusion: The electronics system could satisfy the function requirements of the new neutron dosimeter. The main functions of signal acquisition and amplifying, pulse discrimination, counting, instrument control, etc. were realized by the system. (authors)
