Multiwire proportional low-pressure chamber with a high gas gain coefficient
Description
Characteristics of a multiwire proportional low-pressure chamber are presented. Isobutane under 1-100 torr pressure is used as a working gas. An additional gap with homogeneous electric field allows one to increase a gas amplification of the detector by two orders. It is shown that the space resolution of the detector is 0-0.2 mm at a time resolution better than 3 ns
