Velocity dependent total scattering cross sections for metastable helium on He, Ne, and Ar

Description
Single beam attenuation measurements of total scattering cross sections have been made for the title interactions using a computer not only to process the data, but to control the target gas pressure in the collision cell and thereby minimize errors due to long term drift in metastable beam intensity. The method produces results in agreement with previous work. (orig.)
