Regenerated thermoluminescence: some new data

  • 1. Thessaloniki Univ. (Greece). Dept. of Nuclear Physics

Description

Results on the so-called 'regenerated thermoluminescence' (R-TL) we have already published for LiF, CaF2-Dy and quartz. It has been shown that R-TL depends on several parameters such as storage time, pre-dose, Tsub(m), etc. The explanation of R-TL is based on the creation of R-TL triplets formed by moving free radicals produced by irradiation and deep trapped electrons (or holes) with their traps. In the present paper, we give some new data on R-TL (mainly for CaSO4-Dy (TLD-900)) with emphasis on the R-TL dependence on the size of the crystals. The latter was studied for TLD-900 and for quartz. (author)
