Description
A fast breeder reactor is described where the fuel and fertile material is utilized to the highest possible degree. This is achieved by removing part of the upstream fuel while moving the rest of the fuel upstream and reloading new fuel on the other side. In addition, the fertile material downstream of the blanket is removed, the upstream material is moved downstream, and the upstream blanket is reloaded with new fertile material. (RW)

Es wird ein schneller Reaktor beschrieben, der eine moeglichst hohe Ausnutzung von Brenn- und Brutstoff erzielen soll. Dies wird dadurch erreicht, dass nach jeder Betriebsperiode ein Teil des (Kuehlmittelstrom-) aufwaerts gelegenen Brennstoffs entladen, der noch vorhandene Teil des Brennstoffs stromaufwaerts verschoben und dann ein Teil mit neuem Brennstoff nachgeladen wird. Zusaetzlich wird das stromabwaerts von der Spaltzone gelegene Brutmaterial entladen, das stromaufwaerts gelegene Material stromabwaerts verschoben und die stromaufwaerts gelegene Brutzone mit neuem Brutmaterial beladen.
