Description
This paper contains the user's guide and reference manual of Miro software. This software is used for simulating propagation and amplification of laser beams in laser devices as Megajoule or NIF. The physical effects taken into account are essentially: saturated amplification, absorption, Kerr effect, birefringence and aberration. The models of propagation are either non-linear geometrical optics of parallel beams, or Fresnel diffraction. A graphic user interface as been included to allow interactive management of optical devices and results. A Unix environment with X-Windows and Motif is required to run Miro. The User's guide gives a short insight of the software. The reference manual details the physical models and the way they are implemented in Miro. (authors)
Abstract (French)
Ce document contient le manuel d'utilisation et le guide de reference du lo- giciel Miro. Ce logiciel permet la simulation de la propagation et de l'amplification de faisceaux lasers de puissance dans des chaines optiques de type Megajoules ou NIF. Les effets physiques pris en compte sont principalement: l'amplification saturee, l'absorption, l'effet Kerr, la birefringence et les aberrations. Les modeles de propagation vont de la propagation par l'optique geometrique de faisceaux paralleles a la diffraction de Fresnel. Une interface homme machine permet l'entree de l'architecture et des proprietes de la chaine optique et l'exploitation des resultats de maniere interactive. Elle fonctionne sur plateforme Unix avec un environnement X-Windows et Motif. Le manuel d'utilisation permet de s'initier a l'utilisation du logiciel. Le guide de reference detaille les modeles physiques des lasers de puissance et la maniere dont ils ont ete implantes dans Miro. (auteurs)Files
