Quasi-static evolution of a force-free magnetic field

Creators

Description

Some recent results which shed some new light onto the problem of magnetic field in solar corona are reported. A simple-topology force-free magnetic field is considered in the half-space +z>0-, embedded in a highly conducting plasma. Its quasi-static evolution driven by motions imposed to the feet of its lines on the boundary is discussed. (R.P.) 19 refs.; 6 figs
