The caloric curve of nuclear matter
Description
The best way to heat a nucleus is to pelt it with other nuclei. The nucleus temperature is dependant on the excitation energy which can be considered as intern energy. The aim of this article is to study temperature according to excitation energy. The first results obtained at GSI Darmstadt for Gold 197 showed a plateau in the curve T=f(E*/A) which could be interpreted as a transition between liquid and gaseous phase. These results seem to be not confirmed by the study of lighter elements such as Argon 36 and Xenon 129. The different ways of measuring nucleus temperature are presented. (A.C.)
