The clinical evaluation of radionuclide hysterosalpingography for the diagnosis of sterility

  • 1. Guangdong Province Hospital, (China). Dept. of Nuclear Medicine

Description

A prospective study was taken to evaluate the efficacy of radionuclide hysterosalpinogography (RNHSG) to assess the functional patency of the fallopian tubes in 47 women. The results showed that functional obstruction was seen in 61.82% of tubes in the primary sterility group, only 14.29% in the secondary sterility group. Patency of RNHSG in these two groups were 27.2% and 64.29% respectively, whereas all normal subjects revealed patency pattern in our RNHSG study. RNHSG is a simple and potentially useful method of assessing the functional patency of fallopian tubes
