Heat and cold networks. A promising sector. Press file October 2019

Description

At the crossroad of town planning and energy-climate territorial policies, heat and cold networks are vectors of local renewable energies as they allow the valorisation of various resources such as: unavoidable heat, geothermal energy, sustainably managed forest resources, heat produced by methanization units, or thermal solar energy. This publication first presents and comments some key data regarding heat networks in France, and the objectives of the Heat Fund. It describes and highlights how heat networks and cold networks are a tool for an evolution towards a de-carbonated energy. 25 actions are then defined to support the development of this sector. These actions concern network mobilisation and attractiveness, consumer information and protection, network economic competitiveness, greening of the energy delivered by networks, innovation and R and D
