Research on chemical additives for use in radioactive wastes cementation

Description

The chemical admixture effects on the waste cementation process and products has been evaluated. Three types of additives were tested: retardants, accelerators and fluidization agents, produced by two different industries. The results obtained show that the use of these additives can improve the waste cementation process and product. Their effect on the retention of the contaminants on the cemented product in order to avoid their release to the environment will be investigated in a further research. (author)
