Surface hydrology modelling for safety assessment of radioactive waste repositories

  • 1. Associated Nuclear Services Epsom, (United Kingdom)

Description

An understanding and quantification of ground water and surface water movements is necessary when assessing the radiological impact of a radioactive waste repository. To assist in the understanding and quantification of surface water fluxes for use in the radiological impact assessment codes of Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Pollution of the United Kingdom Department of the Environment, Associated Nuclear Services Ltd are currently developing a surface Hydrology Model. This paper presents an overview of the Model. 8 refs., 3 figs
