Reaction of o-aminothiophenol with 1-bromo-2-acylacetylenes

Description
This paper reports a study of the reaction of o-Aminothiophenol (ATP) with 1-bromo-2-acylacetylenes (1ba). When the ketones (1ba) are reacted with ATB in 1:1 molar ratio in the presence of a catalyst such as Et3N or KOH in mehtanol, ketenemercaptals are obtained in 30-44% yield. With a molar ratio of ketone (I) to aTP = 1:2, the yields of ketenemercaptals become 40 and 60% respectively
