Determining relative magnitudes of oscillator strengths of 214.3 nm TeI, 225.9 nm TeI lines and concentration of nonexcited atoms of tellurium by the absorption method

Description

The atomic absorption method is used to measure the relative values of the oscillator forces of 214.3 and 225.9 nm tellurium f-lines under conditions of thermodynamic equilibrium liquid-vapour. The measurements are performed in the temperature range from 480 to 660 deg C. The value for fsub(214.3 nm)/fsub(225.9 nm) = 1.1+-0.2 is obtained (at 0.95 c.l.). Under the same conditions the concentration of nonexcited tellurium atoms in its saturated vapour is determined. The values obtained are substantially less than those calculated from the partial pressure of tellurium atoms, given in reference literature
