Thermal emission of metastable cluster ions of alkali metals

Description

Metastable cluster ions of alkali metals (Li, Na, Cs) are registered for the first time in the mass-spectra of thermal emission of inorganic compounds. The (M4+)* and (M5+)* are most intensive among them. It is shown that these ions decay by reactions (M4+)* = M2+ + M2 and (M5+)* = M2+ + M3. The values of kinetic energy released in the process of ions decay are calculated by within of metastable peaks

Abstract (Russian)

В масс-спектрах термической эмиссии неорганических соединений впервые зарегистрированы метастабильные кластерные ионы щелочных металлов (Li, Na, Cs). Наиболее интенсивными из них являются (M4+)* и (M5+)*. Показано, что эти ионы распадаются по реакциям (M4+)* = M2+ + M2 и (M5+)* = M2+ + M3. По величине уширения метастабильных пиков рассчитаны значения кинетической энергии, высвобождаемой в процессе распада ионов
