Development of countermeasure technology against radioactively contaminated living environments and key models to support L3 PSA
Description
Radioactive contamination of living environment from nuclear accidents causes an extensive impacts. Living environment includes a variety of artificial surfaces. Radionuclide behaviors on artificial surfaces are considerably different with those on natural ones. To minimize the impacts from radioactive contamination, a series of procedures such as the radionuclide behavior simulation on surfaces and the selection of a proper countermeasure are required. In addition, domestic environment-related models are needed to be developed to perform highly reliable assessments, as the domestic legislation on severe accident management has been recently enacted. Therefore, this study aims to develop technologies to minimize impacts of radioactively contaminated living environment, and also the key models for L3 PSA.
