Description
This paper reports the results of the studies on extraction of thorium, by dibutylbutylphosphonate (DBBP) over a wide range of nitric acid concentrations. Studies on third phase formation in the extraction of Th(IV) by 1.1 M DBBP/n-dodecane are reported and the variation of limiting organic concentration (LOC) at various temperatures are reported for the first time. The stoichiometry of the solvate formed by DBBP with Th(NO3)4 was experimentally determined. (author)
