Description

A new method has been developed to calculate leakage dependent SPH factors for PWR whole core transport calculations. The albedo is generated from whole core calculations, and is used at an assembly boundary to calculate the SPH factors in individual fuel cells. The albedo is updated to preserve the net neutron current from the assembly boundary. This new method has been applied to a mini-core including UO2 and MOX assemblies. By considering the preservation of neutron net current, the convergence of the SPH factors is dramatically improved. Furthermore, from the numerical calculations, it can be seen that a good agreement is achieved between the reference heterogeneous transport calculation and the present calculation which uses the cell wise SPH factors.
