Solvent extraction of pentavalent elements (Pa, Ta, Nb) from hydrochloric media with chlorooxine
Description
Two problems are studied: the 5-7 dichloro 8 hydroxyquinoleine partition between the two phases system: CHCl3/HCl + LiCl, HClO4 + HCl, μ=0.1 to 10, and the use of this reagent to extract the pentavalent elements Nb, Ta and Pa from the above aqueous medium. The following data have been obtained: the chelating agent HA gives ion pair H2AX (X=Cl ou ClO4) in aqueous medium which are partially extracted when μ<6M. When μ=10, the element is extracted according to two mechanisms: chelating and ionic exchange. The ion pair formation constants were calculated from data giving the HA partition. The partition equilibrium corresponding to the Nb(V) et Pa(V) extraction for μ<6 has been established from distribution coefficient variations of 95Nb and 233Pa versus chloroxine H+ and Cl- ion concentration. The ion thermodynamic activity influence which always raise some problems has been discussed

On traite de deux problemes: celui du partage proprement dit de la 5-7 dichloro 8 hydroxyquinoleine dans les systemes biphases: CHCl3/HCl + LiCl, HClO4 + HCl, μ=0,1 a 10 et celui de l'utilisation de ce reactif pour extraire des milieux aqueux mentionnes ci-dessus les elements pentavalents Nb, Ta et Pa. Les resultats suivants ont ete obtenus: le chelatant HA forme des paires d'ions H2AX (X=Cl ou ClO4) dans les milieux aqueux, partiellement extraites des que μ>=6M. Des lors, vers μ=10, l'extraction d'un element a lieu selon deux mecanismes: par chelation et par echange ionique. Les constantes de formation des paires d'ions ont ete calculees a partir des abaques traduisant le partage de HA. Les equilibres de partage correspondant a l'extraction de Nb(V) et Pa(V) pour μ<=6 ont ete etablis a partir des variations du coefficient de distribution de 95Nb et 233Pa en fonction des concentrations de la chlorooxine et des ions H+ et Cl-.
