Looking at waste management worldwide
Description
An IAEA international conference on waste management held in Seattle from 16 to 20 May 1983 is discussed. It was concluded that, though there is a considerable degree of international agreement on engineering issues, there remain wide policy differences between countries. These differences are most pronounced in national timetables for the final disposal of high-level waste and the assessment of long-term risk. (U.K.)
