Wind energy - India overview
Description
The wind resource potential in India has been estimated at about 20,000 MW. Installed capacity totals about 930 MW. 50 MW were installed by the Government as demonstration projects and 880 MW by the private sector. Incentives for wind power plants are listed. The target for wind power is 2000 MW by March 2002. (uk)
